Welcome to Scanwood
Scanwood dates back to 1919 when we had a production in Denmark. Today our focus is on trade alone, whilst the production is overseen by our partners in Eastern Europe.
Half of our trade is exported outside Denmark’s borders to North America, Southeast Asia and Europe.
We have a wide assortment of unique kitchen utensils such as salad sets, knife blocks, cutting and serving boards in several different types of wood.
If you like wood utensils then Scanwood is the right place for you.

Our olivewood originates from the olive groves of Italy where up to 500 years old olive trees give way to new and more olive producing olive trees.
The wood is then shipped to our supplier in Albania for production. We have had a long collaboration with our supplier, a supplier who knows his craftsmanship.
Olive wood is a hard type of wood, and it is sought after because of the beautiful curvy and wavy grain and it’s creamy yellowish brown color.
To enhance or renew the color of the wood, we recommend applying regular cooking oil on the product.
Walnut is widely used in furniture production, but walnut boards are seldom found in the European market. Therefore Scanwood is unique with our walnut cutting and serving boards.
With it’s round and organic shapes our walnut products are inspired by the American marked. Many of the walnut boards have corner holes, which enable them to be hanged for storage and decoration.
The heartwood of the Walnut tree has a dark brown color while the rest, the sapwood, has a white/cream color.
Robinia wood is a very dark type of wood. The production of our Robinia products takes place in Serbia where it is a very common and invasive species of wood.
Products made from Robinia wood is only produced by Scanwood. We use this beautiful wood for candleholders and cutting boards with a unique end grain design.
Beechwood is a hard wood and is plentiful in Europe. Our beechwood products originate from FSC certified forests in Poland and Serbia.
Unlike utensils made of metals and plastic, wood utensils do not contain additives and the production is far more environmental. This makes not only beechwood products but wood products overall a better solution.
Our cherry wood products have been steamed which gives the wood a darker and less reddish color. Following the steaming process the products are then coated with a mixture of mineral oil (85%) and bee wax (15%)
In our assortment we have a number of cherry wood products: Pepper mill (#31100), Salt keeper with magnetic lid (#31330), Tongs (30621) and a cheese grater designed by Knud Holscher (#31210).
